無碍

僕のおじいちゃんは、某有名大学出身でとても頭も賢く、運動神経も抜群で、

小さい頃はよく勉強やスポーツなど、色々とおじいちゃんに教えてもらっていた。

しかし、今はおじいちゃんに勉強を教えてもらっていない。

正確に言えば、教えてもらう事が出来なくなってしまった・・・。

僕が高校２年生になった頃、

おじいちゃんは認知症になってしまったのだ。

今では僕の事も、実の娘の僕の母親の事も分からなくなってしまって、

いつも僕たちに「はじめまして」とあいさつをしてくる。

唯一、奥さんである僕のおばあちゃんの事は分かっているみたいだったけど、

ここ最近になって、おばあちゃんの事もわからなくなってしまった。

しかし、おばあちゃんは毎日笑顔で懸命におじいちゃんの世話をしていた。

今年の年初め、

家族みんなで集まって家でごはんを食べようとなり、久々に家族全員で集まる事になった。

家族の誰一人分からなくなってしまって、

とても緊張をしているおじいちゃんに、

おばあちゃんが笑顔で家族のみんなを紹介していった。

すると、

いきなりおじいちゃんは真剣な顔をしておばあちゃんに話し出した。

「あなたは本当に素晴らしいお方だ。

いつも素敵な笑顔で僕に笑いかけてくれる・・・

あなたが笑ってくれたら僕はとても幸せな気持ちになれます。

もし、独り身ならば僕と結婚をしてくれませんか？」

家族全員の前でのプロポーズだった。

２回目のプロポーズに、

涙をぽろぽろこぼしながら、

おばあちゃんは笑顔で「はい。」と答えた。
